Kobler Energie & Benetics: Meaningful Structures for Successful Construction Projects

Kobler Energy Ltd is a leading building technology company in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley. With around 45 employees, the company offers a broad range of services: its core competencies include electrical installations, photovoltaic systems, heating and plumbing installations, as well as battery storage and EV charging stations. Since early 2024, Kobler Energy has been using the Benetics app to streamline workflows and make daily tasks more convenient for its employees.

1. The Challenge

Daniel Büsser, Head of Electrical Installations and member of the executive board, pursues a clear goal: to make teamwork more enjoyable and efficient. One of the biggest challenges was improving communication between the office and the construction site, minimizing sources of error, and strengthening team collaboration. At the same time, enabling independent work was a priority. Digitalization plays a key role in this. “The most important thing is that our installers enjoy using a new solution – otherwise, they simply won’t use it. That’s what we’ve achieved with Benetics,” Daniel explains

2. Implementation and Success with Benetics

Daniel Büsser, Member of the Executive Board

The introduction of Benetics started with selected pilot projects to test the app under real-world conditions within a small team. It quickly became evident that Benetics offers genuine added value through its clear and intuitive interface – perfectly complementing the existing ERP system. Today, all projects are managed in the app, including plans for various trades, templates for reports, and inspection protocols. “Our employees always have everything they need at hand with the app – there are no more unnecessary trips because someone forgot something,” Daniel reports. “They also always have all pending tasks accessible – unlike before, when paper notes were easily lost.”

3. Digitalized Measurement Protocols? Absolutely!

A major milestone was the digitalization of measurement protocols. Previously, these were recorded on paper – a time-consuming and manual process. Numerous attempts to find a digital solution had failed. “Honestly, I no longer believed it was possible to digitalize these reports so easily,” Daniel admits. “But the Benetics team took on the challenge – and they succeeded.” The next step is to use the Benetics voice assistant more frequently for filling out reports.

4.  The Three Biggest Advantages of Benetics According to Kobler Energy

For Daniel and his team, structured and straightforward standards in project work take top priority. Saving time is a positive side effect but not the primary goal. All employees benefit from the introduction of the new digitalization solution. According to Kobler Energy, the three biggest advantages of Benetics are:

  • Better Collaboration: All project data is centrally and transparently available, improving both individual work and teamwork
  • Less Paperwork: Digital recording replaces handwritten protocols and reduces follow-up work in the office
  • User-Friendliness: The simple interface ensures high adoption rates and motivated employees
